Korean Artist Yun-Woo Choi makes these stunning sculptures out of rolled up pages of magazines and newspapers. Okay he uses wire and resin to keep them together but all the same they are pretty stunning object are they not?
Here’s a statement from him about his work – not sure how illuminating it is though:
What is real? Am I living in the plane or dimension that I thought what it was? In my life, some of my feelings seem to have no reasonable cause, and there are no division between spiritual and secular ideas, slight and deep feelings. Because of my endless dualistic conceptualizing, my mind which is originally seamless and oneness is divided into numerous fragments. I want to reveal the space hidden beyond the dualistic conception which always accompanies symbolic language through my work.
