I came across Winston Chmielinski‘s paintings the other day and just had to give you a look. He’s a young painter – only 23 – based in New York City whose paintings are bursting with energy, life, with broad brushstrokes and vibrant hues hopping off the canvas.
Here’s what he has to say about his work but i’m at a loss to understand exactly what he means:

I apply pigment to dust and am asked why the paint’s falling apart. The intention hasn’t been to create something solid, but built upon my own body these figurative forms misled. The skin now flakes, and the flakes, light as air, now fly: what lingers is a sensation of slow – motion exploding.

Either way I love his work and hope you enjoy it too.
