Vivian Pantoja’s Collages Create A Visual Poetry
Vivian Pantoja, a Colombian artist interested in digital collage, submitted her work to mutantspace last week and I’m delighted to be able to post it up. She does alot of collage work and seems to draw on geometry and fashion images to create each piece. Here’s what she has to say about her process:
The collage is an operation to cut, paste, overlay faces, textures and scenarios to recreate and simulate different imaginary realities from old magazines, books, internet images, thus i mix my world with animal, vegetable and human shapes to create a magical space, the poetry of the image to tell a history, collage liberates my creativity, this is a process of indentification, i can play with all system and structures, break the rules, disrupting the logic of this world and create my own world.
