Tessar Lo Paintings Of Dreamy Landscapes Are Expressionistic
Tessar Lo’s expressionistic paintings have a dreamy quality about them and a colour palette that reminds me of Gaugin’s paintings. His pictures suggest a landscape betwen wakefulness and the subconscious; dreams, feelings, a free flowing river of thoughts quickly passing, idling. All of this tempered by a rich narrative that seems to be based in folklore, a tradidion of sorts. Perhaps they’re images from Indonesian tales where Lo is originally from.
Wherever his images spring from they’re beautiful and if you want to see his latest exhibition, ‘No Evil, Live On’, its on at The Jaski Art Gallery, New Mirror Street 29, Amsterdam, Netherlands
