Taisuke Koyama‘s ‘Thousand Impacts’ photo series is typical of much of his work – taking pictures of the things we overlook, don’t see, take for granted. These images go back to 2009 when he took a series of photos of the marks tennis balls make when hitting the surface of a court.

When you initially see them you’d be forgiven for thinking they’re satellite images of raging seas but this is all part of what Koyama is about. Making us look again, re-examine the everyday in our lives.

If you like Koyama’s process and methodology it’s well worth checking out his other work.
