These distorted panorama photographs of famous landmarks by Søren Ragsdale are from his series called ‘Our World Unwrapped’. To create these wonderful, strange images he had to go through a two stage digital process:

Basically I take a bunch of regular flat photos, I stitch them into a hemisphere (globe), and I project the hemisphere into a flat map. You get distortion at the corners, similar to how a map of the earth distorts the poles.
