Description

Marion Wyatt is course director for the full-time theatre performance course at Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa, College of Further Education, Cork. She directs the Theatre Performance Course, and The Classical Acting Course (Advanced). In addition to co-ordinating and teaching on the performance courses Marion also teaches stage management, production management, and directing. She has directed over 30 productions for csnDRAMASK which include: The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Our Country’s Good, Female Transport, Romeo & Juliet, The Conference of The Birds.
Prior to taking up her position at CSN Marion was artistic director of Stage Centre, a company which she founded in 1988, in order to create employment for herself. In addition to producing and directing for her own company Marion has worked as a freelance director, producer, stage manager, and designer for other companies.
Directing credits include: The Sunbeam Girls 2,(Cork Opera House), Anne Frank and Me, ( Everyman Palace Theatre), The Good Sisters, ( Cork Opera House), The Sunbeam Girls, (Cork Opera House), 12 Angry Men, (Everyman Palace Theatre), Romeo and Juliet, (Half Moon Theatre), Man of La Mancha, (Cork Opera House), Singin’ In The Rain, (Olympia Theatre), Singin’ In The Rain, (Everyman Palace Theatre), Sleeping Beauty (Cork Opera House), The Wizard Of Oz, (Cork Opera House), The Sound of His Music: A Tribute to Richard Rodgers, (National Events Centre, Killarney).
Other productions include: Eclipsed, Agnes of God, Nunsense 1, The Woman in Black, Kindertransport, A Galway Girl, To Kill a Mockingbird, Moll, Once a Catholic, The Plough and The Stars, Nunsense: The Second Coming, A Kind of Loving, Torch Song Trilogy, The Miracle Worker, Men Should Weep, Lovers, and Shakers.
Playwriting credits include: The Sunbeam Girls, and The Sunbeam Girls 2, Thunder Up the Gully, The Sound of His Music, Telly Addicts, and Polly’s Wish.
Adaptations for the stage include: A Kind of Loving, Men Should Weep, A Christmas Carol, Pinocchio, Frank O’Connor’s On the Train, First Confession, Thunder Up the Gully, (from O’Faolain), Little Women, Alice In Wonderland, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and The Good Sisters.
Production Design credits include Man of La Mancha (Costumes), 12 Angry Men (Sound), Romeo and Juliet – (Sound), A Kind of Loving (Sound), Men Should Weep (Sound), Nunsense (Costumes),Marat/Sade (Lighting), The Sound of His Music (Set and Costumes), Under Milk Wood (Sound and Costumes).
Devised work includes: Dancing With My Shadow, Bully! Bully! and WIRED.
Marion is the recipient of the Performance Fellowship, London College of Music, the LAMDA Teaching and Performance Diplomas, and the Master of Arts Degree (Drama Theatre Studies) UCC. Marion is a member of the ADA and has recently been appointed to the FETAC Authenticator Panel.

    It was great to talk to you on Saturday, however briefly, I just hope we can continue onwards from all the good work that came out of the weekend.
    Anyway, welcome to mutantspace, thanks for joining and I hope you get lots out of our co-op and get the opportunity to give loads too.

    Our last bi-annual festival, the trash culture revue, was in November and youre very welcome to get involved in the next one which will be towards the end of May (details soon)
