I am a lighting designer based in Cork. I have been designing for two years, at first for UCC Dramatic Society but more recently for small Cork-based companies. Design credits include ‘K: The Iowa Project’ (Hammergrin Theatre Company), ‘Arcadia’ (UCC Dramat), ‘Heartshaped Vinyl’ (UCC Dramat), ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ (UCC Dramat), ‘The Country’ (Granary New Directors Festival), ‘Howie The Rookie’ (Granary New Directors Festival) and ‘No Exit’ (UCC Dramat) For which I won ‘Best Lighting Design’ at the 2007 Irish Student Drama Awards. I am eager to increase my network in Cork and use my knowledge of lighting to help other theatre practitioners create innovative and original work. After designing ‘K: The Iowa Project’ which was a large promenade show in an abandoned warehouse, I am especially interested in the possibilities of lighting shows in non-theatrical spaces.
