Dancer, Performer, Teacher of American Tribal Style Belly Dance as taught by Carolena Nericcio, director of FatChanceBellyDance, San Francisco. Irelands first FCBD certified Sister Studio… American Tribal Style: ATS: is a modern fusion of traditional bellydance styles, flamenco, indian, folkloric, oriental and gypsy. It is mainly performed in groups and is based on the principals of improvisational choreography. Students of American Tribal Style are taught a vocabulary of moves and cues that are recognised by thousands of dancers all over the world. Tribal Fusion, the little sister of ATS, is more for the solo performer and is a personal and experimental journey for each dancer. A good knowledge of the principals and discipline of American Tribal Style is a good start. The FatChanceBellyDance format is one of the most globally recognised interpretations of American Tribal Style today. I am available for performance, workshops and private classes. I’ve been training in Tribal Fusion Bellydance for the last four years. I have a long background in dance, beginning with classical ballet, with experience in Modern, Tap, Salsa, Samba, Tango, Lebanese etc. I’ve done workshops with some of the best Tribal dancers out there such as Samantha Hasthorpe (Bellydance Superstar), Geneva Bybee and Wendy Marlatt (formerly of Fat Chance Bellydance). I’m opening classes in Cork on August 10th and looking to hear from anyone who would be interested in attending. I’m also looking for people with any creative skills, who would like to join a bellydance community, attend our Haflas (Bellydance Parties) and contribute in what ever way they like i.e. exhibiting their work, sharing their poetry, playing their instrument, decorating the space, taking photographs or filming.
