Ryan Thayer Davis Paintings Pop Abstract Style

Ryan Thayer Davis‘ paintings are an explosion of colour, Hockneyesque even, with his pop abstract love of vivid tones applied with expressive brushstrokes. Texas informs everything about his compositions; the sharp contours of the landscape awash in bright light.

Davis works in various mediums including oil painting, lithographs and mono prints and uses a number of different materials such as spray paint, pastels, markers, graphite, watercolour and white out.

His work is rich and sumptuous as if there is a party going on in his head, on the canvas, every aspect of his compositions loud, talkative and energetic. It’s a window into a hyper world that is joyous even in it’s darkest moments.
