Ricky Watts‘ illustrations are a testament to ink drawing. No fancy tools, just pure skill and technique. What I found surprising when reading up about him is that Watts is, at heart, a street artist. That’s how he started out and he still continues to paint large murals to this day.

Aside from his graffiti, graphic design work and paintings he still manages the time to draw these beautiful detailed drawings of street scenes and wildlife. They really are something else. I just wish I could see more of them.

If you’re in Oakland in January 2013 you’ll be able to see Watt’s work at the ZeroFriends gallery, 489 A 25th St, Oakland, Caalifornia.
