‘Prague Though the Lens of the Secret Police’ is a book of street photographs taken by the Czechoslovakian secret police in the 70s and 80s are creepy in the extreme with agents instructed to survey the population without their consent or knowledge. All of these photos were taken from under their coats or inside suitcases and so it’s surprising that they turned out so well. I suppose that’s what comes with practice.

The book is published by the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes.
