Sculptor Patrick Dougherty made these incredible surreal tree houses, sculptures made out of wood, twigs, sticks, vines and any possible tree related materials he could find at the time. When I first saw the images I thought they were photoshopped but no, Dougherty has been making these mysterious dwellings for years.

Dougherty began his working life in the American Air Force which he then left to go to art college. While there he began making tangled sculptures made from branches. He continued on this journey, this process, and was soon building larger structures like the architectural projects you see here. Pretty amazing objects I think you’ll agree.
