Alot of people probably know about the work of designer Michael Cina. I didn’t. I came across a graphic painting of his and loved it for its minimal qualities. But I wanted more and so went googling after him. And what I found was marvellous work. A series of artworks that are clearly derived out of his career as one of Americas top designers.

For over 20 years Cina has been experimenting with typography, branding, illustration, fine art and photography and in the process has become one of Americas top designers. He’s now making art, pushing himself into a space in which he is free to create for the sake of creating. Here’s what he has to say:

It’s something I do for myself, I don’t really care if people know my work or design. I’m just trying to explore visual ideas and visual language. My background is rooted in minimal and graphic communication and visual narratives. I am exploring many different ideas in my practice, thus the form and medium is varied. My interest is in traditional art and building upon those foundations in new ways.
