Maisie Broadhead, a set designer and photographer who creates historical photographic parodies, has made this incredible time lapse film with filmmaker Jack Cole called ‘Ode to Hill and Adamson’. In it we are witness to a room being transformed into a convincing Hall and Adamson photograph. I knew nothing about the original photographers so went and had a look and she really has done a magnificent job.

Even when you’re watching the short film you sometimes have to do a double take as you watch the false wall going into place, the model getting dressed in period clothing, the lighting being  changed, the action turning into a still, the framed model becoming a photograph .

The film will be part of the ‘Seduced by Art: Photography Past and Present’ exhibition at the National Gallery, London from 31st October 2012 –  20th January 2013.
