Macsime Simon’s paintings are neo – primitive compositions, a post modern onslaught on the human figure. Macsime has a wonderful sense of form with a mixed media approach to his work. Collage and paint struggle for equality, violent slashes of paint are juxtaposed with sensitive line work, muted colours fight with printed blocks of bright oranges and reds and parrots mutate into strange human hybrids.

There is consternation in these portraits, an emotional anger, a plea, a yearning, these characters have something to say. It’s up to us to figure out what.
