Lucy Mink‘s paintings are, for me, wonderful evocations of the landscape, there is an emotional element within her work that seems to relate to the natural world, to her world. It is an intimate place that exudes a sense of the domestic, of comfort, of a person at ease with herself, a celebration of a pastoral life. Perhaps.
Here’s what she has to say about her work:
I am consumed by combinations of color and form as a visual, abstract diary of my life,
where time does not belong to me, but to others. I am frequently organizing their things while they dance. I am in a situation.
