These paintings by artist Kon Trubkovich are a throwback to the pre – digital age, a nostalgic rethink of past aesthetics when technology couldn’t instantly reproduce high quality, high resolution images.
Trubkovich uses watercolours to render low-resolution video images got off old VHS tapes thus highlighting its low – res attributes, its splendid lo – fi qualities. The resulting distortions are akin to some kind of artisanal Glitch Art.
