Kelsey King’s Illustrations Have A Medieval Spirit To Them

Art reviews · January 17, 2013

Kelsey King Illustrations Medieval

Kelsey King‘s is a young illustrator who already has a defined style, a sense of where she’s going. Her work is a kind of juxtaposition of medieval romance and contemporary graphics that  – a modern take on knights in shining armour, damsels in distress, elves, shoemakers and the odd witch or two. Her work, has without doubt, a strong sense of fantasy that uses a high level of detail and pattern, bold line and contrasting colours to heighten her obvious love of a time past, a world gone, a place our childhood left behind.

Being so young she has far to go in her career and I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on her progress.
