Julianna Brion’s Illustrations Are Stylish And Confident
Julianna Brion‘s illustrations are stylish, confident and filled with brio, her simple lines and bold, bright colours all infused with a real sense of play. She also loves experimenting with materials and juxtaposing carefully designed images with freely sketched backgrounds. To give you some idea of her wide interests and tastes she says she loves quilting, picture books, puppies and death metal.
Here’s what she has to say about her work and process:
When it comes to my illustration work, I use a mixture of traditional and digital. I draw in graphite and mix that with either gouache or flat digital color. My personal work has become a great counterpoint to the way I work for clients. I play around a lot with collage, I paint in old found books, use unconventional materials— anything that takes me out of my comfort zone! I also quilt and have been teaching myself to whittle in my spare time.
She has a real sense of style and I look forward to seeing her future work.
