Jessica Bell’s Mixed Media Paintings Are Organic, Simple And Clean
Jessica Bell‘s mixed media paintings are wonderfully simple and clean, you might even describe then as fresh. She often allows the material – rice paper, fabrics and paint – to dictate the composition and then layers them to create her organic pictures that have a depth and textural quality to them.
Here’s what she says about her work:
as a visual artist I sample a variety of disciplines to amass information for my work that is about both the physicality and subtleties of being in geographical place. my practice consists of several media interpretations in which i collect and mound together form and material in fleeting references to my memory and experience of landscape.
Her work is on show at The Good Luck Gallery from 30th November – 2nd December, 2012, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
