James Turrell’s Latest Skyspace Called Twilight Epiphany Is Incredible
James Turrell has recently completed ‘Twilight Epiphany’ a skyspace for Rice University in Texas, USA. This incredible pyramid-like sculpture interacts with both the rising and setting sun while a series of rooftop LED lights are sequenced according to the solar calendar so that viewers are entertained by a light show twice a day, at sunrise and sunset.
In the morning the light show begins 40 minutes before sunrise and in the evening the display begins with sunset. The show can be seen from both in and outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions with people being bathed in light ranging from orange to blue to yellow to pink.
Best thing you can do is watch the video to get an idea of how incredible this is. Turrell is one of the fathers of Earth Art and this is his 73rd skyspace in over 40 years.
