Isabelle Cochereau’s Self-Portrait Collages Are Of The Artist Caught In Different Moments In Time

Isabelle Cochereau’s collage series, ‘Self’, is a collection of 17 self portraits that are principally concerned with time. What we see in these pictures is Cochereau presenting herself at different ages, moments in time, periods of history, psychological states of being all interwoven through a clever use of layering and overlapping patterns. Each image has it’s own visual language, its own specific set of metaphors, all drawn from numerous bits of typography, handwriting, sketches, photographs, textures, magazine images and cut-outs.

She also paints and her other work is well worth having a look at.
