Snow Patrol irish music single review

Snow Patrol
Track: Called Out In The Dark
After a three year hiatus, Snow Patrol have returned with their new single Called Out In the Dark, which is the lead single from their sixth studio album Fallen Empires due for release in November. With its bass-heavy intro and slightly 1980s-electro-pop feel, it marks yet another musical style for Snow Patrol. Lets face it its fun, and although the naysayers say that they may never write another Final Straw album; they are continuing to write really catchy and relevant tunes and this single is a great come back.

The Dead Flags irish music single review

The Dead Flags
Track: You Got It Wrong
Last year Sligo pop rockers The Dead Flags released their debut album Gentlemen’s Club; a set of upbeat pop tunes grounded by a rough edged punk guitar sound. Following up from the album the band release EP You Got It Wrong on Oct 28th. The lead single You Got It Wrong is reminiscent of a Happy days theme song, its happy, its laden with catchy hooks, substance and a quality that is missing in so many Indie bands repertoire’s. Well worth the listen.

The Wonder Villains irish music single review

Wonder Villains
Track: Zola
Another great band from Northern Ireland are Wonder Villains. It’s a candy coated glossy Casio mesh of pop delights. I doubt you will hear better original pop than this, from these vibrantly chirpy youngsters. I have a distinct feeling they will do very well. Zola; a single about the footballer Zola, is out Oct 14th- burn it.

Two Door Cinema Club irish music single review

Two Door Cinema Club
Track: Undercover Martyn
Having had a super past two years or so spanning their uphill climb to fame, and general success, TDCC have been billing most national and international music festivals and leading their own headline tours. Their album Tourist History, which was reviewed here before has lots of gems on it. UNDERCOVER MARTYN is a quirky, up-tempo salute to a new generation of pop that these maestros are remarkably good at writing.
