festival
Our Irish DIY arts festival belongs to the members of our arts skills exchange. It is all of ours. It is our expression and was initially set up to prove that this creative economy can work in the real, physical world.
Both mutantspace and the festival encourages people to try, experiment, fail and play in, encourages people to produce new art, new events and develop new ideas. It is also about autonomy and no compromise and in order to reinforce that we produce the entire festival with no money. Yep, thats right, none at all, after all that’s what mutantspace is all about. That’s what we’re trying to do – use our own collective skills and resources in place of monetary exchange.
To date we’ve produced five arts festivals and hosted over 50 arts events ranging from gigs to short films, theatre to talks, spoken word to art exhibitions, lunches to walking tours. What makes our festival so special is that its entirely programmed, produced, managed and promoted by members of mutantspace. To see what we’ve produced so far go to our previous arts events page
