Evan Hecox Makes Beautiful Graphic Illustrations Of The Urban Environment

Evan Hecox, an artist originally from Colorado, makes beautiful graphic illustrations of the urban environment that have a real cinematic quality to them, often scenes of of the mundane, what we walk by everyday. His approach is to break down photographs he takes of the city and then reconstitute them by removing some elements and emphasising others. His series, ‘Dark Island’ is a good example of how he uses mixed media to create beautiful images of the city.
