Emir Sehanovic’s Collages Are A Psychedelic Freakshow

More collages. This time from Bosnian artist Emir Šehanovic whose latest series, ’99 — 101 soft pages’ takes the idea of of collage – the process of cutting up countless images and putting them together to create a new one – to its logical conclusion by actually building the original images up on top of one another and then cutting back to create a 3D image. The result, psychedelic, surreal images that don’t look out of place in a freak gallery.

Perhaps he titled the work, ’99 — 101 soft pages’, because he uses up to 101 layers in his work? Who knows. There’s very little information about him anywhere. No matter. His freaky, horroe induced images are wonderful.
