Eiko Ojala‘s paper cut illustrations are beautifully simple design concepts that are both balanced and strikingly graphic. He manages to say so much with so little, each piece immaculate, perfect, precise. It’s not often I get to post up work by designers from Estonia but with talent like this it was only going to be a matter of time before his collages went viral.
Most of Ojal’s work is for books and magazines, his subject matter very much figurative and modernist in style, with a wit and subtle humour that he executes with incredible craftsmanship. Just look at how he utilises the raising and lowering of their edges to make the contours pop in reaction to light. Wonderful.
