A DIY Kinetic Machine That Blows Up Balloons

| Art and design | April 13, 2012

DIY rube goldberg arts machine

Some people just love building big, complicated DIY kinetic machines that do small tasks. Like these guys, the Purdue Society of Professional Engineers team. Last week they won the World record for the Largest Functional Rube Goldberg Machine. The contraption took 300 steps to do the most simplest of tasks – to blow up and pop a balloon.

Someone else who did something similar is a New Zealand kinetic artist who built a machine to turn pages.
