Where does time go? There’s no let up, it’s relentless – always running towards oblivion, taking us with it. Worst thing is it speeds up as you get older, as if the more aware you are the less time you have. It’s a paradox I don’t wish to be in. How does one escape it without jumping ship and if you’re to jump ship then what of all those things you’ve left behind. I think my problem is I’m always trying to do too much in too little time – making me see days disappear one after the other, dominoes falling, me running, panting.
With the organisation of The Trash Culture Revue well underway and a number of other ‘pay the bills’ work mounting up (I’m not complaining, money is tight) I feel like an amateur juggler thrown in the deep end knowing all the while that if I drop the balls I’ll let the side down. Coffee and cigarette, please. Thanks. I needed that. A respite.
To attention, for any of you out there reading this please do check out the Trash Culture Revue page in this blog. If you want to get involved please do. You don’t have to be living in Cork, you don’t even have to be living in Ireland as we can do some virtual work for it (and I don’t mean pretend work – you know what I mean). I’ve also set up a fan page on facebook so if you can’t make it you can at least lend support, keep up to date, throw your tuppence in, whatever. Next Friday 16th April is the deadline for submissions so if you have something to offer let’s hear from you.
Going to make this short…on a final note one of our mutantspace members, Bang, has entered a video – he made while in New York – into a competition organised by Moby. He needs votes and he needs them by Monday so help him out please…heres what he’s got to say;
We need your vote!
Hy Mayerson and I have entered a video competition with some of the footage from our recent journey across America. It’s a music video for the title track of Moby’s new album called Wait for me. The video features 1480 photographs of busy New Yorkers crossing 34th Street and 7th Avenue. It’s a haunting song and we have tried to present the idea of being lonely in a crowd.
Please have a look. The vote button is below the video, enter your email address, unclick the members box and submit your vote. That’s it. We’re really proud of this little production and we hope you like it too.
Here it is; http://genero.tv/watch-video/5602/
Please could you forward this email to as many people as you can. Deadline is this Monday the 12th at midnight GMT. 6 finalists announced on April 13th. Overall winner announced on April 19th. Judging panel; Moby and Genero.tv
Further details of our collaboration can be seen here; www.MiamiToNewYork.com
Thanks a million,
Sean and Hy
