David Mach is a scottish sculptor whose work is often described as monumental, his installations spectacular, his materials thousands of old magazines and found objects of all descriptions including cars, canoes, tyres and coat hangers. You can only admire Mach’s workmanship and ability to make the materials appear to swim, to move, inhabit the space in which they’re installed. He also makes wonderful photo montages which I’ll show you another time.

His series, ‘Precious Light,’ that celebrates the 400th Anniversary of the printing of The king James Bible was recently exhibited at the Galway Arts Festival in July. I’m just sorry I missed it. Judging from the images on his site it would have been a wonderful exhibition to see.
