Clemens Behr’s Geometric Sculptures Are A Throwback To Cubist Set Design
German artist Clemens Behr makes large geometric sculptures – that are cubist in style – and puts them wherever he wants, sometimes legally, sometimes not, all because he wants to. They remind me alot of old photos I’ve seen of cubist stage sets that were made for various avant garde shows in Paris in the 20s. His geometric assemblages are made up of disparate materials such as cardboard, wood, metal and paint and look to me like they’re built to deconstruct the environment around them.
