Brian Willmont Paintings Have A Fervent Energy

Brian Willmont‘s paintings are wildly different in style yet similar in aesthetic some of it working, some of it not. That’s what makes him an interesting artist; constantly innovating, experimenting, not afraid to try, to fail. My favourite paintings – some of which are above – centre around the wild west and American history.

I love everything about them, their pop culture references, the folk elements in the compositions, his outsider style and the bizarre and surreal narratives that are aching to be sorted out, understood. On top of all of that Willmont paints with a fervent energy, his colours are vibrant and his compositions alot of fun to look at. So what’s not to love?
