Beth Hoeckel’s Work Is A Wonderful Mix Of Collage And Paint

I love Beth Hoeckel‘s mixed-media and collage work. Unlike many collage artists she veers between painting and found images to create a quite different aesthetic. The image simple, the paint applied in a very minimilistic style to allude to some scenario, a meaning, a question. There’s not much information on her and how she works except that she’s based in Baltimore, USA and studied painting, photography and printmaking in Chicago.

Oh and she does straight collages but I must be honest and say that I much prefer her pieces that combine both painting and found images.
