Benjamin Phillips illustrations follow in a tradition of British illustration that I have always been in love with. It’s a quick energetic style that works on the understanding that good illustration needs to hit you immediately, form an impression quickly, its expression paramount. What Phillips has to offer his own quirky darkness. His characters all seem freaked out, angst ridden, angry, scathing, cynical. I like that. Hope you do too.
